Notre
Dame Academy is a Catholic, college-preparatory school sponsored by
the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame, a religious community
founded in 1850 in Coesfeld, Germany. The Christian education of youth
has always been the Congregation's principal apostolic activity. The
integration of the instruction in Christian truths and values with
human knowledge in all aspects of the school program has as its purpose
the formation of mature, Christian women. Therefore, both the religious
and lay faculty at Notre Dame endeavor to educate each student in
such a way that she may reach her fullest spiritual and intellectual
capacity within an atmosphere of loving concern and religious commitment.
